Mansfield Reformatory

For some reason, it feels like I haven't posted in here for a while, even though it's only been like three days. Well anyways I was going to post the rest of these pictures when I got more of an update to post, but I don't want to wait any longer. Last weekend, Sunday (a week ago from today) we went to the Mansfield Reformatory. It's an old "haunted" prison, and was used to film a lot of movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Air Force One, Tango & Cash, and other ones. Plus it's been a lot of television shows like Scariest Places on Earth, 101 Things to Do Before You Die, and even Ghost Hunters. Not to mention a lot of music videos has been shot here, like Lil Wayne's "Go DJ" and I'm pretty sure Marilyn Manson has shot here as well, but I'm not 100% positive. Anyways, we went there and took the "East Cell Block" Tour, which is really scary because if you had seen the Ghost Hunter's footage, they seen all these shadows go from one cell to another, in the exact place we toured. Spooky! Overall, the experience was very interesting, and the place was so rotten and decayed it was beautiful. The pictures i took doesn't do it justice in the decaying department. If you're ever in the Mansfield Ohio area, you should totally stop by for a tour. My mother wasn't too pleased of the tour we took, so we might return sometime and take the "Hollywood" tour, where you can see all the places that the movies were filmed at, and stuff like that. Well anyways, Ill let the pictures tell the story. Here we go!

65 Pictures Behind the Cut:

THE FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY:

it was packed for being a small festival

i wanted to ride that ride SO MUCH, but it was way too creaky and rusty for my doing.

weeeeeeeeeeeee funnn!

proof I was there :D

MANSFIELD REFORMATORY:

all ready to go

my sisters living room, waiting for Kenny to get home.

WE ARRIVED!

this place was packed as well

the side view (look at that ticket line)

steps of doom!

steps of DOOM to the gift shop lawlz

yeah that's the line for the tickets

sweet pic

this is what it looked like back then

we were all "wow'ed" by this, then found out it was a replica.

that side of the building is the East Cell Block, where were going ;P

the other side

we were all wowed by this too, and found out it was fake and built there recently! FUCK THIS!

i think we almost broke it lmao

WE THEN STARTED THE TOUR!

my camera sucked during this tour, so i apologize for the quality

the guard room? i didn't know this picture was being taken

HERE WE GO!!

I ALSO HAVE TO APOLOGIZE ABOUT THIS. IT WAS VERY HARD TO CAPTURE A GOOD IMAGE OF THE EAST CELL BLOCK PLACE, BECAUSE MY LACK OF QUALITY AND WE WERE SO HIGH OFF THE GROUND, I RUSHED PAST EVERYTHING BECAUSE I WAS SCARED OF HEIGHTS, AND I JUST WANTED OFF THAT THING. BUT THIS IS WHAT I HAVE:

decayed steps

thats how high we were, it looked higher as you walked past all the cells because you only had a small path to follow

and another sucky thing was, i forgot to put my flash on, so you can't see much except blur

inside one of the cells, which was still fixed up. but look how small each cell was. wouldn't want to be a prisoner in that thing. i guess don't do the crime, you won't do the time though

that's the best i can show of how high we were, and what we were walking down

at this point, i was so scared of the heights, i just pointed the camera randomly and took pictures

i guess this is a good one to show what we were walking down haha

the chapel
